Angie’s Story

Angie was born in Ibagué, Colombia, where she grew up surrounded by a close, loving family. Her mum has always been her biggest inspiration and the person she shares a deeply special bond with.

Her parents were very young when they had her, her mum was 15 and her dad 16. Even so, they built a life with a lot of love and strength, which shaped who Angie is today.

At just 17, Angie made the life-changing decision to move to Australia to live with her dad on the Gold Coast. Leaving her mum and everything she knew wasn’t easy, but it marked the beginning of a new chapter that shaped her independence, resilience, and drive.

Over time, she built her life in Australia and discovered a passion for helping people feel confident in their own skin, leading her to a career as a cosmetic nurse.

Outside of work, Angie loves dancing, travelling and spending time with the people she loves, and is always up for a good karaoke night.

Meeting Sam changed everything. With him, Angie found not only love, but the person she wants to share the rest of her life with.

Samuel’s Story

Sam was born in Tweed Heads and grew up on the Gold Coast. As a kid he spent most of his time playing rugby league, enjoying the competitive spirit of the game and the friendships that came with it.

At school, he developed a strong interest in learning and graduated with a number of academic accolades. It was during these years that he realised he wanted to pursue a career in medicine

The loss of his younger sister, Sophie, to cancer had a profound impact on him and further strengthened his desire to dedicate his life to helping others.

Today, Sam works as a specialist doctor in obstetrics, gynaecology and fertility, a role he finds deeply meaningful as he helps families welcome new life into the world.

Outside of work, he enjoys staying active, travelling, good food, and spending time with Angie and their two dogs, Teddy and Rosie. Meeting Angie changed everything, and he feels incredibly grateful for the life they are building together as they prepare for their wedding in Bali.

Our Story

We met the modern way, on Hinge. Sam’s first message to Angie was:
“Hi gorgeous, I feel like I’ve seen you before.”
“Oh… maybe you have,” Angie replied.
“Ahh I remember now , you’re the girl of my dreams.”
“Well, lucky for you… dreams come true.”

Fortunately, Angie decided that was just confident enough to deserve a first date.

Our first date was bowling and mini golf on the Gold Coast. Between the friendly competition, plenty of laughs, and realising how much we had in common, it quickly became clear that this wasn’t going to be just another date.

Over the next year, our relationship grew through travel, adventures, great food, and countless moments that felt easy and right. What started as a simple message turned into something far greater than either of us expected.

Just over a year later, we got engaged.

Today, we’re building a life together on the Gold Coast… a little Australian–Colombian family with our two dogs, Teddy and Rosie. We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and can’t wait to celebrate our wedding in Bali with all the people we love.
